#Fitness Staying Motivated and on Track in the winter season

Monday 9 December 2013

As it has gotten a lot colder lately , it can be a lot harder to motivate yourself to get out of bed yet alone out of the front door to the gym, so today I wanted to share with you ladies some of my tips and how I  try and keep myself motivated and fit despite so many temptations not too. Firstly and mostly importantly remember why you started in the first place and how far you've gone so far.

Tip 1: Plan Ahead your work outs an meals

I find that if I plan ahead even if its the night before what I plan on doing the next day I find it a lot easier to organise myself and keep on track. Get yourself a diary and start planning. For instance my plan tomorrow 6:30 am 15 mins of pilates as well as 6 weider day 3&4 links below. There are also many great iphone apps which help you stay on track such as the Nike Training Club or My Fitness Pal.

Tip 2: Buy New work out clothes

Let's admit it us girls love a new clothes , so why not buy yourself new gym trainers or top it will make you want to go to the gym , there's just something about new work out gear that makes you want to gym it a little more.

Tip 3: Exercise Indoors at Home

I use to go gym in the mornings but with the cold weather I have switched it up to morning pilates and yoga at home work outs and have moved gym to the evening. Strength training is ideal for a home work out but there are also plenty of aerobic dvds which can be done at home as part of your cardio routine.

Tip 4: Focus on the Benefits

Every time I feel like giving up or missing the gym I think about the benefits exercise brings you, it is great for managing your stress levels and it leaves you feeling good about yourself. It also has anti ageing effects as it enhances blood flow to the brain , it improves your sleeping pattern and helps to reduce the risk of many health problems these are only some of many reason why 30 minutes of exercise a day can be beneficial.

I hope you found some of these tips helpful and let me know how you stay motivated to keep fit.

  1. Awesome post! Do you think at home cardio is as effective as running? I haven't been able to run outside for my 5k training since it's freezing in Seattle lately. :/
