Palermo , Italy .. One trip , A thousand Memories

Tuesday 31 January 2017

The best relationships are the ones you never saw coming , and you could say that is how our adventure started. A few months later and here we are on our first holiday together , January 23rd we flew to Palermo , Italy. I was very lucky to be treated to a holiday to Italy for my 25th Birthday  and a nice getaway by my boyfriend.

Palermo was an amazing adventure with some beautiful architecture and amazing views which can be seen from the top of the mountain Pellegrino. The mountain in itself is a beautiful statement in the city . We decided to take a bus  to go to the top of the mountain and walk down it instead of hiking both ways which I am glad we did, the mountain does get steep at times and is challenging but worth with all the views you come across whilst walking down it.

It is clear to the eye that  certain areas of the city have remained untouched and are very rustic, this is obvious and can be seen in the buildings across the city and the little side streets you come across whilst exploring Palermo. The city has beautiful Cathedrals and Opera houses which are stunning with so much detail , the. buildings have so much character and are aesthetically breath taking.

Exploring the city was always very entertaining with A by my side, we stumbled across it all from the most beautiful to the less fortunate areas / side streets but thats what made it even more remarkable.

One thing we did notice is that Palermo is not a place where you will find many restaurants in fact it can be difficult to locate some having said that we ate some amazing authentic food. On my birthday I was treated to an amazing dinner  at a restaurant called Gagini Social , whilst it was a pricey resturant  the atmosphere , interior and food were beautiful. It was truly one of the best birthdays I have had in a while, whilst the meal was incredible and being able to spend it in Italy was amazing , it was mainly whom I got to spend this time with that made it so special.

Palermo was an amazing experience not only due to the beautiful surroundings but also because of who I had beside me on this trip. It's the moment you just look at someone when they are just walking  , laughing or doing whatever and there's something about them that moment  the makes you think I jut really love you , as cliche as that sounds it is exactly how I felt being able to spend those couple of days with the one person who means the world to me.  It was a trip with lots of very fond memories , laughs and special moments I will always remember and smile back every time I look back on this trip.
